Name: Katie Empie
Area of Service: Women’s Ministry and MOPS Coordinator
Katie knew from a very early age that God had placed a call to work in ministry on her life. One of Katie’s favorite scriptures is Isaiah 6:8, “Then I heard the Lord asking ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said ‘ Here I am. Send me.”
Katie was saved in 1991 and since then has relied on God for everything and trusted Him through every good and difficult time in her life. While she encountered many difficult times in her life but always knew that each time was something that was specifically Father-filtered
to strengthen her and would open up doors for her to minister specifically to people experiencing the same things. Her relationship with God deepened and became unbreakable. If you need to start a relationship with Jesus Christ please call us at (641) 569-7024 Ext. 100.
In 1998 Katie’s family made the decision to move from Ohio (where she had lived for her whole life) to Pensacola, Florida so that her mom could attend Brownsville Revival School of Ministry and train to become a missionary to China. At Brownsville Assembly of God, she was able to gain experience in ministry. She became involved with the Children’s Ministry and also because highly involved in the Youth Ministry serving on their prayer team and also as an usher. Katie and her family never made it to China but Katie believes it wasn’t ever meant for her to ever go to China at that time. In 2004 Katie made the decision to move to Iowa and attend college there. While in Iowa she became involved in her local church with teaching in Missionettes and also a leader in the youth group, working in nursery, teaching Sunday School and being a Children’s Church Van Ministry Chaperone. While Katie had planned on staying in Iowa, God had other plans and began to speak to her about moving back to Florida. While that wasn’t her plan God specifically opened certain doors in Pensacola that were not opened anywhere else. So in the fall of 2006, Katie moved back to Pensacola and began teaching in an umbrella school. She also became a Children’s Pastor at a local home church that was ministering in the community and reaching kids that weren’t always able to go to a physical church.
In 2010 Katie and Jeremy joined their lives together in marriage. Now they serve together in ministry through Bethesda House and also share the same heart for those who are lost and hurting in this world.
